We are offering a special priority offer for this exceptional product, which has already been reserved by world-famous VIPs and is being prepared for listing at overseas auctions.
The whisky brand “TOKIYOSHI YAKUSUGI” is produced by Komaki Distillery using Southern Kyushu’s great nature. The whisky flavors are matured in casks made of Yakusugi cedar trees, which have been growing for several hundred years.
Enjoy this superb Japanese whisky, which transcends the age of time.
Our distillery has continued to develop the whisky distillation technology brought back from Britain by the Satsuma Clan at the end of the Edo period. We constantly attempt to create new spirits with a flexible sensibility and a keen awareness of each generation’s trends and lifestyle changes. Now, we are utilizing the distillation technology cultivated through authentic shochu distillation, our rich environment, and carefully selected ingredients without compromise to create a new Japanese whisky that will inscribe its name in the history of whisky.
In 2023, Komaki Distillery's "Issho Silver" and "Issho Bronze" were awarded the Superior Gold Prize at the Tokyo Whisky and Spirits Convention 2023 (TWSC2023),Asia's largest spirits competition.
Komaki Distillery has built a solid brand recognized by experts and connoisseurs in Japan and overseas, receiving the Matsunoo Taisha Authentic Shochu Grand Prix Winner, the TWSC2021 Superior Gold Award, the Berlin International Spirits Competition Double Gold Award, the Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition Gold Award, and more.
We use natural subterranean water from the Shibi Mountains for our brewing water, which is said to be the most important constituent of whisky.
The Sendai River, into which this natural water flows, is home to a rare aquatic plant called kawagoke-so (Cladopus japonicus). Kawagoke-so is a delicate plant that thrives only in gentle, clear streams with excellent water quality. Found only in the Sendai and Amori Rivers of Japan, it is a rare species designated as a natural monument.
Subterranean water drawn directly from mountains owned by Komaki Distillery is used for “TOKIYOSHI YAKUSUGI.”
A blend of primarily Scottish and Canadian barley is used for our malt. All ingredients come with a certificate of origin.
Komaki Distillery uses our years of experience to carefully select a variety of domestic and imported barley.
The malt whisky matured in Yakusugi cedar casks has a deep and broad flavor. Enjoy the world of this refined whisky.
Yakushima Island is home to a globally precious ecosystem and abundant nature. In 1993, it became the first World Natural Heritage Site registered in Japan.
"TOKIYOSHI YAKUSUGI" is the first whisky in the world to use several hundred-year-old Yakusugi cedar wood from Yakushima, a World Heritage Site, for the whisky casks.
Logging of Yakusugi cedar trees is now prohibited for protection; therefore, there will be no new supply of wood in the future. The malt whisky of "TOKIYOSHI YAKUSUGI" is the whisky matured in Yakusugi cedar casks, which are becoming even more rare and valuable.
Fourteen million years ago. The island of Yakushima was created when submarine tectonic plates pushed up molten granite. The highly humid air carried by the Kuroshio Current collided with the 2,000-meter-high mountains, producing strong winds and rain. In this natural environment, the Yakusugi cedar trees grew gradually over a long period.

The highly humid air carried by the Kuroshio Current collided with the 2,000-meter-high mountains, producing strong winds and rain. In this natural environment, the Yakusugi cedar trees grew gradually over a long period.
As a result, the casks, rich with resin that has aged for several hundreds of years, possess notes of flavors reminiscent of maple and gateau chocolat.
“TOKIYOSHI YAKUSUGI” is stored in a stone warehouse built at the end of the Edo period in the late 1800s. We have applied to have this warehouse designated as a Prefectural Important Cultural Property. Rare Kajiki stone is used for the outer walls of this stone warehouse.
Kajiki stone is hard and robust. Its inner air bubbles provide thermal insulation and good moisture retention. This natural, energy-saving stone material effectively keeps the warehouse’s temperature and humidity stable.
“TOKIYOSHI YAKUSUGI” malt whisky continues to mature in this outstanding environment.
Single cask strength refers exclusively to malt whisky matured in a single cask and bottled. Since it is not blended with the whisky from other casks, the character of the single cask malt itself is accentuated, attracting the attention of collectors and connoisseurs alike.
In addition, single cask strength whisky is extremely rare and valuable because higher amounts of “angel’s share” (malt whisky lost due to evaporation) occur depending on the years the whisky is matured. “TOKIYOSHI YAKUSUGI” allows you to enjoy the character of the “finest cask of whisky” blessed by angels.
The flavors of “TOKIYOSHI YAKUSUGI” whisky spirit continue to mature in Yakusugi cedar casks made of the world’s oldest trees
Whisky is attracting attention as a physical asset. Many brands of rare and valuable whiskies have seen their price jump severalfold over.
The main reasons for the rise in whisky prices are the demand from connoisseurs worldwide and the time it takes to produce whisky. “Single cask strength” whisky is especially in high demand due to the small distribution amounts. Many brands tend to be sold at a high price.
The graph above shows the market trends of single malt whisky published by “RARE WHISKY 101”. (* Index based on 1,000 whiskies popular around the world.) Single malt whisky refers to a brand of whisky produced by a single distillery using malted grain.
The single malt whisky market has continued to expand steadily over the last ten years, growing by more than sixfold between 2012 and 2022.
The graph above shows the data from a comparison with other financial assets conducted by “AMR (Art Market Research).”
The 10-year growth rate of wine and automobiles exceeded 100%; in particular, rare whiskies recorded a growth rate of 428%.
This data shows that rare whisky is not only a luxury item but is also attracting attention as an investment target worldwide.
Single cask strength whisky is bottled from an exceptionally high-quality cask in the distillery, so only a very limited amount can be bottled.
Even though the demand is high, the amount of whisky released to the market is very low. Thus, it is frequently traded at high prices on the auction market.
Since “TOKIYOSHI YAKUSUGI” is all bottled from a single cask, there are high expectations for its future.
“TOKIYOSHI YAKUSUGI” is bound to gain attraction due to its rarity and story.

The rare presence of this whisky is bound to capture the hearts of many whisky lovers.
